Hey Steve,
I recently acquired a 1980 Ibanez ST-50. Heres a little spec rundown to maybe guide the decision making:
All Mahog body, 25.5″ scale length, 24 frets, rosewood fingerboard, dual humbuckers, set neck.
The body is about as thick as a Strat and it kind of feels like a cross between a Strat and an SG in all the best ways.
The pickups it came with are really powerful, and perhaps its the combo of these pickups with the mahogany but its a very warm sounding guitar, lots of bass and mids, even after lowering the the pickups down a good amount. Im looking for a recommendation on a more articulate humbucker for some beautiful clean sounds that would also work with some medium levels of gain.
Thanks for your thoughts!
